I just aquired an Akai MPK mini and although it comes with some nice software to program it ive heard that it works better coupled with a nice DAW. Ive used it in Fruity loops FPC plugin breifly but i can only set the pads and not the keys. Open MIDI-OX with all other programs closed. In the OptionsMIDI Devices section, select your MPK Mini ports from the MIDI Input menu. Now MIDI-OX will simply list all incoming MIDI messages. This will help confirm if the controller itself is responding properly.
